Well, not exactly. However, you should be weary whenever someone makes you promises that sound too good to be true. Unfortunately in Network Marketing aka MLM, you will hear quite a few of them. I would just like to dispell some of the rumors and hopefully change most peoples' opinion of Network Marketing.

These are names that are often associated with Network Marketing but they are totally inaccurate. Sure there are many scams out there especially on the internet, but Network Marketing companies are by no means a scam. Network Marketing IS a legitimate business. Many well known companies like Avon, Rexall Drugs, and even AT&T are seeing the benefits of Network Marketing and using it to their advantage. Did you know that Excel Communications was the youngest company to ever be publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Its sales reached ONE BILLION DOLLARS three times faster than Microsoft and it is the fifth largest telecommunications company in America. NOT BAD FOR A PYRAMID SCAM HUH? Go into any bookstore and in the business section you will find a book called The Excel Phenomenon. The book is about this incredible company, a NETWORK MARKETING Telecommunications company. If these and other well known companies can see the benefit why can't you?

Network Marketing is a method by which a company distributes and markets its products. The benefits to this type of marketing are many for both the company as well as the distributor. Here are some of them. The cost to advertise is almost non-existent. By using a NETWORK of distributors the company does not have to worry about advertising or Marketing because the distributors do that for them. What does that mean for the distributor? It means that the products can be bought at a lower price and thus sold at a lower price without sacrificing profit margin. Also, it gives regular people like you and me an incredible oppurtunity to make quite a sum of money. Just think about it. What if Microsoft were in Network Marketing and you were a distributor for them? Do you realize how much money you would have made? Instead Mr. Bill Gates gets all of it. Okay so that is a bit of an exaggeration but you catch my drift.

The truth is that the majority do NOT. However, everyone's opinion of LOTS is different. Some people would be happy just making a little bit extra to supplement their current income. Other people want to replace their existing income. Then you have the people who want the moon. Regardless of what you want, it IS all possible with Network Marketing. The keys to success in Network Marketing are finding a company with products you believe in and committing yourself to the business. Another thing to remember is that it does NOT happen overnight. Most people build their Network Marketing success slowly. Usually over the course of years not months. That is not to say that it cannot be done in several months but it is not the norm. Network Marketing is like any other business. You must work at it to be successful. Success will not just fall in your lap. Many people believe that just by joining an Network Marketing company they will all of the sudden have wealth without any effort. That could not be farther from the truth!

The benefits of Network Marketing as opposed to a regular 9-5 job are numerous. The benefit most people find attractive is that you can work at home and make your own schedule. Imagine not having deal with traffic every morning and evening. People also like the fact that they don't have a boss looking over their shoulder and mothers especially like the fact that working at home allows them to spend lots of time with their children. Another thing people like (especially me) is that they can wear whatever they want to while working. How would you like to work barefoot in jeans and a t-shirt? Or maybe sweats are your thing. The last significant benefit I would like to tell you about is the tax advantage. When you do Network Marketing it is like you own a business. So anything you do related to the business becomes a tax write off. Say you take your friends out to dinner to tell them about your business, that's a write off. What if you go to Hawaii and sign a person up into your downline? Guess what, it's a write off. You can see what I am getting at.

Several years ago that is what most Network Marketing companies wanted you to do. Nowadays with all the technological advances in communication it is very easy to reach thousands of people so the emphasis is taken off the family and friends. In fact, some companies have marketing plans set up for you to where you don't even have to sell anything or talk to anyone. All you have to do is take orders for product. But lets think about this, say you went into your backyard and found more money than you could ever spend in your lifetime. Wouldn't you want to share it with your family and friends? That is how you should look at Network Marketing.

SOME PARTING THOUGHTS

Well, this page ended up being much longer than I had expected, but I hope it was helpful in shedding some light on what Network Marketing is really about. Before you go, I would like to leave you with some things to think about. On January 22, 1998 I went to a job fair. What I saw reinforced my desire to be involved in Network Marketing. About 50% of the people there were middle aged people in their late 30's early 40's. Victims of corporate downsizing or looking for something better. At that age you should be thinking about retirement not finding a new job or a better one. Ask yourself these questions:

Do I want to...
...be in control of my financial future?
...be able to spend lots of quality time with my family and friends?
...meet lots of great people and make new friends?
...have fun while I work?
...feel good about what I do for a living?

If you answered yes to most of these questions then Network Marketing could be for you, and 2Xtreme Performance International could be the company for you. Now ask yourself these questions:

What are your dreams and goals in life?
Are you happy where you are?
Where would you like to be in 5 years?
What would make you happy?
Can you fulfill your dreams and accomplish your goals doing what you do now?

Don't be like everyone else. Make a change, do something no matter how small. Every little bit helps. Don't settle for less than you deserve! Everyone deserves THE BEST, but only a few ever get it. Be one of the few not one of the masses.
